How the SolarScore works
Not just star ratings. A composite trust score built from five independently weighted data sources, recalculated daily.
Verified reviews
Post-install, email-verified reviews from real homeowners. No anonymous submissions.
SAA accreditation
Real-time check against the Solar Accreditation Australia register. Lapsed = flagged.
Responsiveness
How quickly installers reply to enquiries. Tracked across thousands of quote requests.
Complaint history
Tracked through our complaint and resolution system. Unresolved complaints reduce scores.
Review volume
Log-scaled to reward credibility — a 4.8 from 200 reviews beats a 5.0 from 4.
Built different from every other solar directory
Most solar comparison sites sell your details to whoever pays the most. SolarScore works the other way around.
Truly independent
SolarScore is not owned by an energy retailer, installer network, or comparison site. No installer can pay to rank higher. Every score is algorithm-driven and recalculated daily.
Verified data only
Every review is email-verified by the homeowner who left it. Scores are built from five auditable data sources. No bought reviews, no anonymous submissions.
Every installer listed
All 8,247 SAA-accredited solar installers in Australia are listed whether they have a paid account or not. Free profiles are never hidden or downranked.
Built for homeowners
Searching, comparing, and getting quotes is completely free. Your contact details are only shared with the installers matched to your request, never sold to lead aggregators.

A $20,000 decision deserves better than a Google search.
“I’d been quoted by four installers before I found SolarScore. Two of them had complaint flags I never would have known about. Worth its weight in gold.
MHMargaret H.Homeowner · Castle Hill, NSW
“The score made it easy. I picked the highest-rated installer in my postcode, got three quotes in 24 hours, and had panels on the roof a fortnight later.
DKDavid K.Homeowner · Geelong West, VIC
“Finally a directory that isn’t selling me to whoever paid the most. You can tell it’s built by people who actually want homeowners to make a good decision.

Yes, completely free. There are no hidden fees, no sign-up costs, and no obligation. You can search the directory, compare installers, read reviews, and request up to three quotes without paying anything. SolarScore is funded by installers who purchase credits to claim leads.
The SolarScore is a composite 0 to 100 rating built from five independently weighted data sources: verified review average (35%), SAA accreditation status (25%), responsiveness to enquiries (15%), complaint history (15%), and review volume (10%). Scores are recalculated daily so they always reflect current performance.
You will receive up to three quotes from top-rated, accredited solar installers in your area. Our matching algorithm selects installers based on their SolarScore, proximity to your property, responsiveness, and availability. You are not obligated to proceed with any of them.
SAA stands for Solar Accreditation Australia. It is the national accreditation body that certifies solar installers meet Australian standards for design and installation. Only SAA-accredited installers are eligible for government rebates like the Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) discount. Every installer on SolarScore is SAA-accredited.
Every review on SolarScore is verified through a two-step process. First, the reviewer must confirm their email address via a one-time code. Second, our system cross-references the reviewer against actual quote requests to confirm they were a genuine customer. No anonymous reviews are accepted.
Yes. If you find an installer you like on the directory, you can request a quote directly from their profile page. That installer will be guaranteed one of your three quote slots, and our algorithm will fill the remaining two with other top-rated installers nearby. You can also submit a general request and let the algorithm choose all three.
SolarScore covers all eight states and territories across Australia, with 8,247 accredited installers listed nationally. Whether you are in a capital city or a regional area, our matching algorithm will find the best-rated installers who service your postcode.
No. SolarScore is an open directory. Unlike marketplaces where installers pay to appear or bid on your lead, every accredited installer in Australia is listed on SolarScore whether they have a paid account or not. Rankings are determined entirely by the algorithm, not by how much an installer pays.
